At Falderal Winery, we teach bi-monthly home wine making classes. They usually fall on the 2nd Saturday and 3rd Thursday. Please check our calendar to make sure we are holding class, as events such as festivals or tastings can change the schedule.
Wine Making 101
Home Wine Making 101 covers the basics of making wine at home. Whether you’ve never touched a carboy before, or have some past experience and want to brush up on your vinting skills, this is the class for you. We’ll go from primary fermentation to bottling and everything in between with a hands-on class taught right here in our winery. We will focus primarily on wine produced from wine kits, but we always welcome questions regarding using fresh juice.
Wine Making 102
In the peak of harvest season, we often have the opportunity to bring in freshly crushed grapes and fruit to work with. Usually occurring from August to October in Henderson County, we will run advanced Home Wine Making 102 classes, which will focus on the use of fresh product, whether they are grapes or any other type of fruit. We’ll explore the nuances of using fresh versus pasteurized juice, and the ratio of fruit to wine. A must for anybody who is interested in taking advantage of a garden or backyard harvest.
The Fine Print (Because Our Lawyer Made Us):
Both classes run approximately 3 hours, depending on class size. Due to the hands-on nature of instruction, we try to cap classes at 6 -8 people. Cost is $30 per person or $50 per couple and includes a tasting, bottle of wine and 10% off all wine making accessories to help jump start your wine making endeavors.
Pre-registration is required, and payment is expected at the time you sign up. We accept credit card payments over the phone (Visa, MasterCard, Discover & American Express), or check/cash in person. We understand that your schedule can change, however, we are unable to offer refunds for reservations cancelled within 48 hours of the scheduled class. However, if you would like to re-schedule your class time, we would be happy to put you down for another date at no additional cost.
